Choose your own adventure
You get to fill in the blank.
This is the year you…
have been waiting for.
you step into your power fully.
you stay laser focused in your own lane.
You are author of your story and artist of the masterpiece that is your life.
Stop waiting.
Breathe in your power now.
Where you gaze is where you go. Intend to become ever more aware of distractions taking your drishti out of alignment.
Be the change you wish to see.
Instead of resolutions for the future, do what you’re planning now. Like right now. Just a little something. It doesn’t need to be grandiose or post-worthy.
Don’t do everything at once. Just one doable thing. Microdose the changes you wish to see. One bite-size bit at a time. You got this.
Light a candle, breathe in and out. Send a prayer of love to the world and to yourself. Land back into your body.
It’s simple. Do not overcomplicate the little things.
Meanwhile, do something today that embodies who you wish to be/come.
Want to get fit?
Move your body.
Put on the rain jacket and walk. Listen to the rain fall on your hood, the titter of birds playing, the breeze in the trees. Begin with something you can accomplish. Maybe that’s just 10 minutes.
Want to spend more time in the garden?
Go there.
Pick what’s left of the tomatoes and pull out the stalks. Hoe out what’s ready to be removed or returned to the earth.
Want to feel nourished?
Cook a meal with your whole heart.
As you add the ingredients, say aloud or silently how it will grace those who eat or drink it.
I most often remember to do this with my coffee. Coffee for vitality, focus, clarity, joy. Milk for abundance, sweetness, love, compassion. Whatever words come to mind for you as you add the ingredients are the exact right words.
Bless it and those around you before you eat.Maybe even light a candle. Add some flowers, dried grasses, or elegant sticks to a vase.
Want to feel more love and connection?
Thank someone who has shown up for you this past year.
Send ‘em a text. Post a review. Write a love letter. Write a love letter to your younger self or your body or to your children to read at a future date. Whisper I love you into the ear of your beloved and give it a little nibble.
Lately, before bed, I’ve been writing down all the gifts I received that day. Soul gazes, hugs, coffee mugs, tangible and intangible. This has a way of showing us just how many gifts come into our lives in any given day.
Wherever you feel like you are lacking, give that.
Take time to notice all the gifts in your life. For, as you see the gifts, you’ll see more gifts. What you look for, you find.
Want to clear worry and anxiety?
Meditate. Journal. Go for that nature walk.
Write down all the little gifts of the day, for what you seek, you find. Stop looking in the direction of things to worry about.
A meditation practice is worth its time in gold. It’s where we become aware of the inner workings of the lower mind and actively call in the higher mind. It’s where we can have intimate connections with those we love, those we once thought we’d lost, the wisdom of our bodies, ourselves. It’s where we become co-creators of our lives rather than passive observers and lamenters.
Move the energy of your body, mind, spirit, home. Take down last season’s decorations.
Want to feel more spacious in your body and in your life?
Declutter. Open the windows. Let your abode breathe.
One drawer, one door, maybe even a closet.
Sometimes we feel like we need to focus on what’s most visible. Sometimes it’s that corner nobody goes that is aching to be cleared out and loved. Listen to your intuition here. If you don’t like cleaning, is there one mini-place that is calling for your attention? Start there.
Want to feel vitality and health?
Clear the schedule.
That’s my intuitive hit for myself regarding health. The past couple months have been rough health-wise. I’ve been overextending myself to take care of the people in my life and maybe in a mode that still seeking to prove something.
My body has been asking me to slow down & to do so without blaming anyone, any notion, or anything outside me.
How do you wish to show up for yourself in the coming year?
How you show up for you is what allows you to show up for others. You matter more than you’ve been led to believe. Your energy, consciousness state, and presence matter. The simplest acts of showing up for yourself in the minute ways matter.
Don’t do it all at once. Just do one thing. One thing at a time. One breath at a time. Build intentionality into your days.
Aim to be just 1-2% more present than the day before. This has a compounding effect in your life. Over time, your dedication snowballs.
Realize this ‘more present’ isn’t someone else’s idea of what that means. It’s not some idea of better that can be quantified by external measurements. It may look like flinging all your plans out the window and sitting rather than producing.
Be vigilant about where you’re still aiming to live up to someone else’s idea of what worthy is. You are worthy already, just as you are. No more striving. No more force. Stay in compassion and devotion to knowing yourself.
What’s on your list that you’re acting upon today? Maybe it’s as simple as letting go.
Love,
H
