This morning I had icicles on my eyelashes.
On my sunrise walk—recently resurfaced as daily ritual thanks to spirit encouragement from a friend—I faltered.
I shivered. I wondered, what if I can’t keep this up as the sun rises earlier soon.
Boom that burst outta the present. Outta being any amount proud that I’m out at dawn this cold.
The crows caw, crunch crunch hard earth, a flutter of siskins, the still hawk perches, cows look at me and chew.
I see myself bloom apprehensive and feel into how that sneaky feeling pervades so much of our lives.
We do this to ourselves, don’t we?
Worry about the future instead of inhabiting the now in celebration, reverence & wonder.
If you’re doing creative work and following the calling of your heart in any capacity, beware of the worry that wonders: Can I keep it up?
Just do what is here. Be where you are. Inhabit this moment to the full of your ability.
From this place, each/ next right action or rest arises.
Feel into your feet.
Wiggle your toes.
Feel into your hands.
Breathe through your nose.
Come back to your body, your present.
It’s all happening now.
Every new morning, you get to choose how you show up.
Every next breath, you get to choose.
What does this little voice of apprehension sound like in your life?
Let’s talk about it in the comments.
